THE WEE SCOTTISH GUIDE TO
COFFEE LOVERS

When Glasgow-based journalist and coffee refuser, Deedee Cuddihy moved to Scotland from New York many years ago, she was delighted to discover that she had landed among what turned out to be "her people" - tea drinkers! Fast forward to the present day and what's this? A recent survey has found that: "Scots prefer coffee to tea as their hot drink of choice"! It's true: you can't swing a croissant these days without hitting a coffee shop... But has Scotland really forsaken the leaf for the bean?

After questioning a wide range of people across the nation about their hot beverage habits, she was relieved to discover that there were some tea jennies among them, but they were, indeed, outnumbered by the java addicts - who had some fascinating things to say about their love of coffee.

"For my first cup of coffee in the morning I use Nescafe's dark roast with three sweeteners, in a mug, and then, instead of milk, some Delaney's Country Cream which is the thinner, Co-op version of Baileys."
